The Sandown Greyhound Racing Club is excited to invite local community clubs to apply to be part of this year’s Melbourne Cup and Bold Trease Community Sweep!
This year, we are making the concept bigger and better than ever – this year, 16 clubs will take part in the sweep (instead of eight in previous years), and participating clubs will win a share in $25,000!
It’s our way of supporting local communities and grassroots clubs.
The process is very simple:
- Fill in the application form below
- Email the completed form to Liz Whelan at ewhelan@grv.org.au by Sunday 25 October
- Wait to hear if you’re successful!
If you’re successful, then your club gets to bring 10 people to our Melbourne Cup Heats Night at Sandown Park for dinner on Saturday 21 November (wearing your club colours!). Each club will then be allocated a greyhound running in either the Melbourne Cup Final or the Bold Trease Final, and each club will then receive two all-inclusive tickets to Melbourne Cup Night on Saturday 28 November.
If your allocated greyhound wins the Melbourne Cup Final or Bold Trease Final, then your club wins $5,000 – and the minimum amount your club will walk away with is $500!
We’ve also got extra prizes up for grabs for the club who promotes our Melbourne Cup Carnival the best on social media, and also for the club who brings the most additional racegoers to Melbourne Cup Night on 28 November.
